Mixtape Review: Curtis Williams - Half Forgotten Dreams

Two-9 member Curtis Williams' latest project is a standout among the more hotter mixtapes of the summer. From production to lyricism and wordplay, Half Forgotten Dreams comes with something different beginning to end. Read the entire review after the jump.
Curtis Williams is an artist that seems to understand how to embody original hip hop into modern sounds and society, along with the rest of the Two-9 collective. Providing real life messages, slick bars, and impressive wordplay over nice beats. The Childish Major produced "Automatic" track is one of the many highlights of the mixtape. Offering the infamous "Mike Will Made It" build ups and heavy bass give the project momentum going into the next tracks. Another track that caught my attention is "Fast Money & Freedom", also produced by Childish Major. Along with the Detroit Red produced "Serene", Curtis Williams provides smooth, medicating music. Other highlights off the project are "Bare Essentials", "1000 More Blunts",  and "Face It". Overall, I must say this project is a must listen and different if you expect the typical Atlanta sound. We give this project a 4 and a half O's out of 5. Tell us what you think of the project on our twitter  or leave a comment below.
