Review: Chuck Inglish - Droptops

I hate to bring up The Cool Kids, but ever since the two started doing their own thing, the music has continued to escalate with flavor and dopeness. Chuck Inglish recently released his highly anticipated solo EP Droptops and it doesn't disappoint. Read the full review after the jump.

Having the EP themed around popular vehicles from the 80's and 90's keeps the overall sound very interesting. Early in the project we catch a very noteworthy feature from Travi$ Scott on the remix of "Back Up". To backdoor that nice collaboration, Chuck enlists Asher Roth for my favorite song off the project "For the Love". The track has a very mellow, vintage feel to it, good for evenings behind the wheel. The visual for the follow up track "Four 12's" was released a while ago and is a must watch. Continuing through the project it seems the bass gets heavier, more intense, but that chill factor is still there. With tracks like "Contact" featuring soulful vocalist Buddy and "Tangerine" featuring Aston Matthews & Kashflow Da God, you get a very relaxed sound across the board. Chuck Inglish closes out the project with a very retro track called "Dangerous". This cut calls for Buddy once again and also features Jane Jupiter. This track has so much production behind it, you may have to listen to it a couple times. Overall, the Droptops EP is really nice for the summer season and has amazing production, leading to us giving this project a four out of five O's.
