Mixtape Review: Curren$y - New Jet City

It's been many years of Curren$y dropping dope collections of work. His latest mixtape New Jet City continues to show why he is considered with some of the best in hip hop. Adding features from familiar people like Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Rick Ross, Juvenile, Styles P, Jadakiss, Lloyd, French Montana, Trinidad James, Trademark & Young Roddy. Jetlife fans worldwide are sure to enjoy this project. Read the full review below.
Like many of Spitta's projects, you can always expect a quality, relaxed sound. Pretty much from beginning to end, this mixtape jams in the speakers. "Clear" featuring Jadakiss brings a very cloudy vibe. Curren$y and Jada blend well together over this Statik Selektah produced song, as they talk their talk. To back door this track, we come to the Lex Luger produced "Choosin'", featuring Wiz Khalifa & Rick Ross. I'm sure this is a favorite among many and I would have to agree.
If you're a fan a driving to good music " 16 Switches Pt. 2" and "Three 60" featuring the Trippy King Juicy J, are perfect for you. I appreciate how Spitta made a part two for "16 Switches" off the classic project This Ain't No Mixtape. Continuing through the project we make a stop a "Coolie In the Cut" with the Jetlife vet Trademark. Another Lex Luger beat that bangs in the speakers.
For the smokers out there who haven't sparked up yet, "Purple Haze" is the track for it. With assistance from the underrated talent Lloyd and the XXL 2013 Freshman Trinidad James, makes it a must listen off the project. This track takes you on a trip with purple greenery and purple "drank". "These B******" featuring the fast growing French Montana, is one of my favorite tracks. It has the feel and content that I feel most men may go through. Harry Fraud always manages to have amazing production and you wouldn't even know he was a part of it. To close out the project Curren$y tags in Young Roddy for "New Program". Overall this project goes among Spitta's wide range of music, but it's not up there with Covert Coupe, How Fly, or Independance Day. We give it  three out of five O's.
