Does Rick Ross's "U.N.E.N.O." Verse Deserve the Attention?

I am sure that by now most music heads have heard the controversial lyrics stated by Rick Ross over Rocko's track "U.N.E.N.O." "Put molly all in her champagne, she didn't even know it. I took her home and enjoyed that, she ain't even know it." At first listen you can't help but to think the MMG boss man is condoning date rape. It could just be a lyric or it could have really taken place at one point in time. Does it deserve all the attention that it's receiving? Continue reading after the jump.
Personally, I don't support violating people in no shape or form, but for people such as rappers, athletes, or actors, word choice is very important. This incident with Rick Ross is getting a ton of attention across the country. From the protest outside of Reebok to Wiz Khalifa replacing his verse on the Rocko single to Reebok dropping him from the company after Ross saying, "I'll die over these Reebok's" in the same song. This isn't the first time an MC has used words that have offended an entire country, but that doesn't justify the situation. As in any situation, there is always to sides. A man of Rick Ross's stature is more than likely in senarios where beautiful women are in his surroundings with intentions of their own. I feel with something like this it's the responsibility of us as people and Ricky Rozay to just put more thought into what we say and how it may affect the world. In these days and times everyone pays attention due to social sites and the media. The song is still hot for the upcoming summer season and I think Rocko shouldn't be affected by what's been brought to the public's attention.
